SATURDAY....awe alas the weekend has arrived!!!! What a grand day so far. I am to that point where I cannot sleep in on the weekends due to my internal clock I guess...I have never been to this point before and I must admit I do like the idea of not sleeping my one day off away. More good times offered when one is out of bed and conscious. :)
Woke up at 8:00am (or I suppose should say stayed in bed till 8:00am). Then Zandra and I went on a wee hike to Forbidden Island. Forbidden Island = one of the grooviest places on Saipan!!! It's a fun hike and works those ole' glutes and hamstrings. Now I know what you're thinking, Karen is already huge when it comes to muscle mass!!! The hike up is tiring and today it was SO HOT, but still ever so much fun. When we got to the bottom we looked around for beach treasures and then went swimming in a big water hole. The fish got a little too friendly but alas it was refreshing in deed. There tends to be Japanese tours to Forbidden and so we ran into a group of about 10 tourists who had with them a fetching young tour guide with tattoos aplenty. And while I will choose my words carefully...He was like, so super cute :) Yes one must enjoy the "sights" when they get a chance here on Saipan.
On the way out of the water hole Zandra fell on the rocks and hit her head and knee. Scary in deed...good thing my muscle mass is so large and in charge. But alas she was able to make it back up on her own. Strong gal that Zandra. Strong like bull!
After Forbidden I left to go to Lau Lau beach with some of the other girls. Turned rainy but still found some dynamite shells. Why do I collect shells? Cause they're sure PURty :) Now time to relax and do some school work. I am in need of caramels to make caramel covered apples this week for our apple unit in class. NO child should be without a caramel apple experience. NONE of my kids have tasted the joy of which only caramel apples offer. WEIRDOs :)
Just to warn our phone got disconnected....RATS! Now one must understand island life is slow and lazy, including business procedures. So hopefully we'll have a phone line in working order soon...because I know all of you are dying to call me wink-wink :)
I shall write more soon.
