Oh the joy that only Managaha Island can produce!!! I do love this little island getaway and for that I'm not ashamed! Some of the teachers and PIC workers decided to take a little trip to Managaha Island after church this past Sunday which was a glorious plan in deed. Had ourselves some God time then enjoyed one of God's beautiful creations as dessert...not too bad if I do dare say! Had ourselves some snorkeling action while feeding the friendly fish some fine vienna sausages. YUMMY, had a couple bites myself! Nothing like some fine fleshy mini sausage links to boost a Sunday afternoon :) There were plenty of fish that puckered up for some underwater shots by my handy dandy underwater camera, thanks to my parentals! Also enjoyed some rays as we practiced our lazy and do-nothing skillZ. It's all in the bi's and tri's :) Gnawed on some dried mango while gawking at some howley boys playing a little beach Vball then took the grand 10 minute tour around the island while bumping into a fine local desiring a little campout company...oooh la, la.
Also decided to take muchos pictures of the beautiful scenery I'm currently surrounded by, for only two short months left!!! I've come up with the conclusion that I only want to live in areas that are capable of having palm trees. No palm trees = too flippin' cold! I haven't missed the whole winter experience since I came to Saipan, no lie! I will admit to missing fall and watching all the pretty colors, but that and that only! I'm going to miss all the lovely people I've been blessed to meet here on SAIpan..including the local boy on Managaha I suppose :) Kind people are often the best part of one's scenery

SO...I must endure a little less than two more weeks of class before our much needed spring break. The children are going bananas and the teachers are slipping on the peals (huh?). Next week is testing so that shall be nice, not as much lesson planning. AND then of course Easter activities...TRUE meaning behind Easter activities which are always a blessing. This spring break I'm going to be in my classroom...no ticket or visa required ): Would have liked a little Thailand experience but alas with not knowing what's going on next year don't feel quite as free with the lack of money supply. SO I'm going to start cleaning and PACKING!!!!!! Crazy in deed. If anyone has any boxes don't be shy :) Thankfully I didn't bring much with me.

TOmorrow is Hump Day cheers from me to you!

Island Girls at Heart :)

We had ourselves a little island day at school on Friday due to some lovely Paulaun skirts that were given to all the teachers from our very own Ann. Dynamite we were in deed!! My island days are about over here on Saipan which has me in a mixed emotional state. My brain has been overcome with thoughts of next year and where the Lord will lead me. I know his dreams for me are far bigger and greater than I can imagine but I wish he'd let me in on it :) This UNKNOWN has got me in a state of computer addiction looking for teaching jobs till the wee hours of the night. So sleepy I am, wandering to and fro bumping into my own legs and drinking Diet Cokes for breakfast in hopes that the caffeine will aid in my conscious state. Why is it that we must be consious during work hours anyway? I function better in my sleep...I make more sense while asleep, and I have more patience in my sleep. Curious in deed.

I have had some response from a Maui school and I'm praying that this is perhaps where God will place me next year. I know what you're thinking...Maui, oh dear, oh my!!! Is it safe? Will Karen be okay in such a place? :) After spending hours upon hours on two applications, 16 essay questions, a personal testimony, a christian philosophy on education and constant prayer I am hoping and praying this is where God might lead me next year. Otherwise it was great practice for the next application process :) Please pray for me :)

Just got back from a little Forbidden hike which is always good times all around. Got over to the actual Forbidden Island which is always terrifying and fun :) Did some swimming and frolicking while catching some hot Saipan rays. Now I must get some work done. Still have some lessoning to do for tomorrow...this whole planning on the weekends is a bunch of bologna!!! Last week didn't get to do the Thursday night Subway and lesson plan ritual due to a wonderful and successful Science Fair...but now must pay for it. Think we're going to be making ourselves some fine recycled paper in the first grade this week...messy?? Yes, and oh so much fun. Perhaps we shall have to pop in a little "Spaceballs" while we work...awe yes sounds much better already!

Be Still Your HEARTS :)
