Awe...THanksgiving in the past now a little Christmas at HOME to look ever so forward to! Had a nice Thanksgiving though with my little friend Kori in tow. Got to have some major beach time, which crazy enough I don't seem to get much of here on Maui (bizarre in deed). Got a little toasty and overdone but grand times all the same. Spent some relaxing days at Kaanapali beach and had my eyes reawakened to all the lovely "sights" here on Maui thanks to my wonderful scenery spotting friend :)

We also did a little house and dog sitting which proved to be....something. Had us some grand luxuries including an ocean view, hot tub, lanai, CABLE TV +, walk-in shower (with a BENCH!!), and of course the company of two adorable dogs. NOW one dog had some hyperactivity issues but alas won my heart in the end. Poor Kori and I didn't get much sleep due to this particular over hyperactive dog who also enjoyed waking up at the incredible hour of 5AM but it twas grand times all the same. AND I got my ole' bi's and tri's back in shape so that was an extra bonus. Nothing like throwing a rubber soccer ball for hours 5 days straight :)

Otter...sweet but deadly....

Also was able to spend Thanksgiving with Kori and some other Maui friends. One of our school workers prepared Thanksgiving dinner for all of us young teachers including ham, turkey (yum!), green bean casserole, vegetables, yams, mashed potatoes, salad, rolls, AND tofu casserole and salmon for yours truly. What a sweetie in deed. We were all very stuffed and pleasenly plump by the end of dinner...so we then decided to burn off some calories by doing a little Thanks Day karaoke in Kathy's living room. Awe angelic sounds were created that evening in deed.

We likey Thanksgiving

After saying good-bye to Kori and THanksgiving leftovers I am back at school and working at the bookstore. I actually work everyday until I leave for home for a little Christmas joy!!! So getting sleepier and sleepier each day and yet getting more and more excited for soon being home with family and friends. Shall be grand in deed. Will be hard to leave afterwards I'm sure but my parentals will soon follow my return for their little February Maui vacation...NOW won't that be a hoot?!! For now I continue to count...only 16 more days!!!!!!

How can we possibly begin to understand the unseen world when we can't even fathom the seen world?!!!!

Nacho Libre night was the BOMB :) Watched this fabulously done piece of film heaven at school on the big screen with pizza and goodies overflowing. Oh and how we laughed !! Good times were present in deed. There's nothing like an evening filled with spandex goodness on screen.

Tomorrow is Friday, Veterans Day, which means NO school which causes smiles aplenty to grace my face. Some gals and I are going to lunch and then to some local tattoo parlors to check out the tatting skillZ :) We might get marked, we might not depending on Maui prices. Should be fun looking around though. Im thinking perhaps a lei tattooed around my neck??!! Hhhmm how delightful that would be. Then church Friday night with some teaching and singing. SATURDAY morning meeting some Buy the Book girls for breakfast at 8:00AM...what was I thinking agreeing to that. Going to some local breakfast joint in Wailuku which is half way to Lahaina, which means I might make the rest of the travels to do some early Christmas shopping!!! Oh my how strange that sounds. THEN Saturday night we're off to dinner and the play "Annie" which some of our Doris Todd students are performing in!! GRAND times awaiting.

Sunday I work and then only a few days until my darling friend Kori comes to visit!!! How time flies for it seems like we were just discussing the possibility of her coming over for a little Thanks Day festivities. It'll be fun to just lay low for awhile and enjoy some darn fine company. My parents have also just booked their reservations in Kaanapali for February which shall add some groovy island days ahead. Know that all are welcome to come and share in some Maui times whenever you feel so inclined.

I'm off to some BUNKO (aka: fine dice rolling good times) Hope everybody has the best of times this long weekend.

What a great and yet tiring week. Had ourselves some beach time last weekend, had some spaghetti and "Lost" times in the middle week, and then concluded with a flash flood and the Doris Todd FUN WALK in the end week. Grand times all around. The FUN WALK is the school's largest fundraiser where the children raise money and run laps on an upper field. They were so cute running around at top third grade speed and grabbing water as they ran by. I was so proud of their motivation and determination!!! After the running we then had games all afternoon which included some major excitement dressed as a dunk tank, face (aka: entire body) painting and of course all the grand throw the bean bag through the hole and at the pins games. Awe the memories created....

Who would have thunk
running circles could
be so much fun?!!

We also had ourselves a wee storm yesterday including flash floods, mud slides and a certain teacher wondering why she had to wear WHITE pants on that particular day! So after creating a skirt from a garbage bag to cover parts better off unseen we scooted the soaked and shivering children home and tried to make the trip home after being told roads were flooded and unpassable in some areas....thankfully with my stealth like driving maneuvers we made it home safe and sound, with a bit of soggy bottom discomfort. Now two days of rest...enjoy I shall.
